Hosting change

I’ve changed web hosting providers. With the move comes a bit of “working out the kinks”, so there may be a few things that don’t work properly. I will be addressing these issues over the next few days and I apologize for the inconvenience.

MS Telnet AddOn for RDM 1.0.0.0

Here’s another new RDM addon, this one adds support for Microsoft’s Telnet client.

TheGreenBow VPN Client AddOn for RDM 1.0.0.0

A new addon for Remote Desktop Manager is now available.  TheGreenBow VPN Client AddOn for RDM allows you to select existing sessions or store and launch exported .tgb files from TheGreenBow VPN Client.  I don’t own the software, so this was developed using the trial version (complete with annoying “evaluation” prompt).  The addon was working pretty well in my testing, but please leave your feedback with your results.

Adobe Acrobat uninstaller is RI-freaking-DICULOUS

40 minutes and still counting just trying to uninstall/deactivate it to use on another machine. Makes you wonder if they do this on purpose, just to piss you off so you’ll just go out an buy another copy of it.

AddOn Updates

All 3 RDM AddOns have been updated with a more secure method of handling passwords (MySQL AddOn 1.0.0.2, OpenVPN AddOn 1.1.0.2, Shrew Soft AddOn 1.0.0.1). The OpenVPN AddOn also received a bugfix by way of removal of the auto-prompt for credentials. I may add the auto-prompt back at a later date, but this was a quick fix to allow users to set credentials.

All These AddOns, But How Do I Get Support?

Well I’m glad you asked ;)

Devolutions, the author of Remote Desktop Manager, has been kind enough to set up a topic in their forum to handle supports requests for RDM AddOns. When reporting an issue, please include the following info:

  • Operating system (specify 32bit/64bit)
  • Remote Desktop Manager version
  • AddOn name and version
  • Problem details
  • Screenshot(s) if necessary or helpful
